Training Times

Training usually takes place on the Brisbane River. We meet at Colmslie Recreation Reserve, Col Gardner  Dr, Morningside (enter via State Hockey Centre) about 15 minutes prior to the session start time. It is important to contact the coaches prior to attending any training session.

The coaches write structured training sessions to build up strength, endurance etc according to the regatta calendar in the SQ Zone. There is an opportunity for enthusiastic paddlers to learn the art of steering and the river is the ideal location to begin sitting in seat 6. Sessions on the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast are organised throughout the season for ocean experience. Paddlers with OC1 and OC2 craft regularly meet on the weekend for a paddle at Shorncliffe/Brighton or another open water location.

Most saturday mornings there is a long session (1hr 30 mins) and a shorter session (1hr) for those who are still building up endurance or are wishing to participate as a social paddler. The Junior squad trains at approximately 7.30a.m. on Saturday mornings.

Click here (updated 24-09-08) for all the important dates for ROCC's 08/09 season. The calendar will be updated regularly.
